Overall Responsibilities

The Senior Affiliate Manager is responsible for high-level strategy development for all team accounts and managing enterprise accounts while providing training and professional development for direct reports, and ensuring the continued improvement of services provided to clients.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Performance Attributes

  • Effectively manage the team while preparing assistants for more responsibility and promotion
  • Understand and reinforce corporate goals, assist in creating and maintaining a fun, high-productivity environment, help all others achieve more at JEBCommerce
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Affiliate Marketing and other digital marketing channels, ability to broaden your knowledge and grow as a digital marketer
  • Ability to manage clients’ programs through regular change, while maintaining professionalism and a positive outlook
  • Understand company values and instill these values in the team and the department
  • Partake in industry webinars, publications, and public speaking events
  • Develop new and innovative affiliate marketing strategies that align with client’s goals
  • Demonstrate a general curiosity of each client’s goals, obstacles, limitations, competitors, initiatives, and general and specific customer and business information; always be learning about the client and how our services align with their goals
  • Demonstrate ability to build strong partner relationships
  • Demonstrate ability to use a continuous improvement cycle with our processes and systems, how we serve clients, and develop employees

Affiliate Program Management

  • Work with clients to develop realistic and achievable goals, ensure growth strategies can be implemented and your team is on the same page regarding success
  • Develop and execute quarterly plans for all affiliate programs in your area of responsibility
  • Plan your team’s activities on any given day, promptly respond to client “fires” and inquiries, ensure strategic plans are executed, track progress and activity of clients’ programs
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with affiliates on behalf of clients; work with each partner to provide them with what they need to be successful
  • Actively pursue new affiliate relationships, scorecard current affiliates to ensure maximal sales/activity for our clients
  • Ensure your team understands and works toward the client’s goals; where necessary address pain points, continue to train and develop the team in all areas related to the client and affiliate management
  • Create and distribute reports as required by the agreement with the client; provide analysis of the data, identify trends, develop strategies to build on success or reverse lackluster performance

Client Management

  • Develop comprehensive strategic plans for each client on a quarterly and annual basis, ensuring all challenges and obstacles are identified and optimization strategies outlined
  • Keep clients well informed of progress made on their behalf, forecasted growth, production and any potential issues, obstacles, challenges and future opportunities; ensure that their expectations are in line with ours and in a timely manner
  • Identify issues or problems in advance and ensure timely notification and resolution; as often as possible, resolve issues before the client is aware
  • Provide frequent, detailed, and professional communications following our guidelines and processes; agendas, call recaps and other communications must follow the same system
  • Be data-driven, avoid statements that begin with “I feel” or “I think” when addressing issues of a quantifiable nature
  • Be process-driven; the Senior Affiliate Manager is responsible for keeping his/her team on top of executing processes, streamlining current processes, and creating new processes to maximize efficiency
  • Response time is important but must be prioritized; client communications should receive a same-day reply whenever possible, even if just to acknowledge receipt of the message and that a response is being created; other partner inquiries should receive a reply within 24 hours

Affiliate Team Development and Management

  • Coach direct reports and teach the skills needed to excel in their position; help them identify the obstacles, stumbling blocks, and blind spots keeping them from their full potential, and empower them to do the same with their direct reports
  • Set quarterly objectives and hold regular one-on-one meetings to challenge and develop individual team members
  • Ensure the team is clear on strategic intent, key business drivers, rationale, etc., so decisions can made with confidence
  • Uncover new and innovative ways to train the team on processes, affiliate marketing tactics, client services, and digital marketing
  • Evaluate and refine current processes to ensure the team is as efficient and effective as possible
  • Contribute to and execute our training program(s) for new team members

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of affiliate management experience
  • 2+ years account management experience
  • Driven
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to learn quickly on-the-job
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Solid work ethic
  • Demonstrated ability to grow affiliate programs or account marketing campaigns
