As Jamie mentioned, we used to print a lot, but now we are making an effort to use digital documents whenever possible and also being sure to print on both sides of paper and widening margins to reduce paper waste. If you need to print, OfficeFrog also sells 100% recycled paper.
Utilizing power strips and unplugging them at night is a simple task that will help reduce energy costs and it is also good for the environment. Other ways to conserve energy include maximizing natural daylight in your office to naturally heat and cool your work space, further reducing your energy costs.
Reducing water by using water coolers instead of water bottles is a great way to reduce waste and conserve water. We will be switching over to a water cooler and would encourage you to take this small step to help your office become more earth friendly.
Coffee is an important part of our day and while researching ways to become more friendly, we were happy to see we were ahead of the game by using reusable coffee containers. Their is the obvious benefit of reducing waste and the added bonus of freshly ground coffee every week or two.
Hopefully these ideas will help you come up with your 5 ways to help your office become more earth friendly.
